GOAL SETTING
We are always learning and growing. Goals help us set directions to that growth by aligning our thoughts and behaviours to what we want to achieve
Goal Clarity
YOUR MOTIVATION
become aware of what is motivating you. avoiding a consequence can be a motivator. alternatively, you might be chasing a reward from achieving your goals.
BREAKING IT UP
break up a large goal into smaller ones - so small you can't refuse to it. for example, if your goal is to read everyday, ask yourself if you can just hold the book in your hands. if it takes less than 5 minutes, do it. don't question it, just do.
DELAY GRATIFICATION
oftentimes, commitment can be the hardest aspect, as most goals include delayed gratification. This means you don't get any immediate reward, but only in the long-term.
it's a skill. although modern devices and technology fulles us with instant gratification, practicing delayed gratification is possible. visualization exercises can help best.
